Fire and food

P O S T have now performed their fire-workshop. We wanted to investigate the time it takes for a log to burn out. We also wanted to explore the other qualities of firewood. The sound, the smell, the warmth and the visual impact that a fire can give. It is striking how a fire immediately gives you a sense of calm and restfulness. To set a fire also awakens childish qualities in you. It´s fun to set a fire and in a playful way investigate it. Under the right circumstances fire is not harmful but a tool and sometimes even a necessity for survival. It provides warmth, protection and security. It can also be used for food preparation, like hot dogs for example.

An armful of firewood took about 1.5 hours to burn out. We calculated that the firewood in the pavilion will last for approximately 20 days.
